ABOUT 90WATTS

90watts is an Amsterdam based independent record label that brings the organic sound of deep tech-house. With about 30 releases in the last 18 months, the number of representative artists is increasing in a steady and qualitative way.

Founder Jeroen van Meeteren is a true dedicated music lover and earned his credits as a well respected DJ (JVM) since the mid 80s. He has grown up by the origin of house music in the Netherlands and his first release, together with Geogio, “Velved Vision”, was featured on a Global Underground mix compilation by John Digweed in 1998. This was also the first 90watts music release.

In 2005 Van Meeteren restarted 90wattsrecords together with Bart Heideman, the other half of the fresh new duo Van Meeteren & Hyde. This restart resulted in a few collaborations with artists like Dadara and Janosh. They produced the soundtrack for the multimedia project Love Peace & Terror by Dadara and released this DVD on 90watts. Another project is the Hi-Fi Mystery School, that saw daylight in a multimedia release on the label: “Arcturian Frequencies”, a spiritual project about Sacred Geometry with artistic visualisations by Janosh.

The 90watts philosophy is based on esoteric principles and spirituality is an important and powerful influence in the mind set of the people who run the label. Being conscious about the importance of natural and organic elements of Mother Earth is an enormous source of inspiration.

During 2007 and 2008 the label begins to attract more artists to sign their works on 90watts. The team welcomes Simon van Roekel as a studio engineer and artists like Angelo D’onorio, Philip Young and Franklin Reeves. Also guys like Dulac, Dennis Ruyer and PrinsJan got involved and released their tracks on 90watts. This growth drives the label in a more and more professional direction. In 2009 Jens de Langer joins the 90watts family.
