The Hi-Fi Mysteryschool frequencies
The Hi-Fi Mystery School is in the process of conducting fundamental research into the power of music. Currently the true effect of music on the listener is only a fraction of what it could be. This is because in the West all instruments are tuned on a principle named "Equal Temperament". In this system all tones are artificially divided in equal steps over an octave. This is artificial because it varies completely from naturally occurring tones. In Nature sound manifests itself according to certain laws. By studying these laws and applying them to our music, we obtain music that is once again in harmony with nature and therefore also with man, the listener.
The Ground frequency is an important aspect of music of the Hi-Fi Mystery School. This frequency is determined in advance according the effect that it has on the listener. Another important advantage of the system we use is that the overtones are pure in contrast to overtones in the system of equal temperament and therefore in harmony with the ground frequency. This means that the effects of the ground frequency through these pure overtones, are allowed to influence the sub conscience and conscience in a direct manner. With certain techniques the two cerebral hemispheres are synchronized as a result of which one can have optimal perception of the frequencies. With this summary of our techniques, we would like to show you a picture of what the Hi-Fi Mystery Music School can do for you: It is a completely novel way to experience music.
We work with both head (using the described techniques) and heart (by actually playing intuitively the music). In the music we create the symbiosis between head and heart that assures a profound influence on the listener.
This year Bogdan Moldovan, better known as DJ Optick will perform again on Romania’s biggest annual dance event: The Liberty Parade. As we speak, Optick is one of the most popular electronic music artists in his country. Since his release on 90watts, together with studio mate Ciprian Lemnaru, his international aspirations are coming true. Time to turn the spotlight on DJ Optick and his gig at Romania’s biggest dance event: The Liberty Parade.
Hi Bogdan, how are you?
Hello! Well, you could say its a bit early, but I am preparing the set for the biggest dance event in Romania. Its the 10th edition and I prepared some special treats some of them with dutch flavour.
Tell us more about your history in electronic music. How has it all begun?
It all started in long time ago in 94' when i discovered that I could entertain my classmates with the music i was collecting for some time. At 16 I started my own radio show in my hometown Radio 21 also a residency at the biggest club in the area. In 2000 I moved in Bucharest and so i discovered the dance scene i fell in love with. It is also the year i started my residency for Liberty Parade. Along with my friends from Activ started in 2005 producing the offical anthems for the event. This is how i discovered the "studio life" if i may so and the joy of being aplaused when you're playing your own production. We signed our track Feel Good, with the australian label Wasted Youth and the track was played by Pete Tong in his Radio 1 show, which ofcourse was such an honour for us. I met then in 2008 Ciprian Lemnaru and after few atempts we finally got it right and signed our first EP with you guys.
Yeah indeed. A few months ago, you released an EP on 90watts. What brought you to this record label?
I just guess it was just a happy coincidence. Me and Ciprian were in the studio making the finall adjustments for the two tracks we've signed with you. And while i was searching on Beatport for some bombs I bumped into you on th website and I said, hei these guys have really something to say and i really think our tracks could fit into their sound, lets try sending them...you know the rest :)
What have you been doing ever since?
After we relased our first Ep - Connected, we did a remix for Jens de Langer vs Vmh - Arcturian Armitrage wich is also out on 90watts.
So now you’re preparing your set at the Liberty Parade. Can you tell us more about this event?
It's actually the biggest dance event in Romania. Starting with a 1000 people crowd in 2001 ending with 60 000 people in 2009, it really a very powerfull event!
What can we expect from you on 90watts in the future?
After a short spring break i spent with my family, i finally got back in studio and we are looking forward seeing you again on 90watts website with new material we are working on as we speak.
Friends of 90watts, James Nidecker and Franklin Reeves, have done a mix compilation for the German techno label XYZ. It's the sixth edition of the well known Minimal Techno series.
It's quite an honour to mention 2 tracks from the 90watts catalogue are featured on this double cd package. In the mix you'll find Van Meeteren & Hyde's "Solar Brotherhood" and "Crush" from Franklin Reeves' "Distance EP". Of course, both tracks are still available on Beatport.
James Nidecker and Franklin Reeves
Some talk about the new wave of Dutch electronic artists but Amsterdam residents James Nidecker and Franklin Reeves have been on the edge of producing underground house and techno music for quite a few years before being noticed by the international dance community.
But it wasn't until they met at the creative surroundings of downtown based 90Watts studios in 2009 that they joined forces. This led to a fresh collaboration of releases and compiling and mixing the first CD of the Minimal Techno series volume 6 which they nurtured into a deep vivid cross-over of House, minimal and tech-house. Sweet flavours for the ears but raw like sushi.
Their upfront Deep Tech sound easily melts into an afterparty Ibiza sunset with a touch of Amsterdam chill while igniting your soundsystem with that typical Dutch pumping groove that conquers the hearts of House lovers everywhere.
